Marvel Studios officially canceled its long-troubled Blade reboot starring Mahershala Ali, with Kevin Feige acknowledging the project's failure on July 20. Ali subsequently blamed Marvel for the cancellation, asserting the studio possessed the financial resources and contractual obligation to proceed if it had prioritized the film. The actor's public comments contrasted with Feige's characterization, with Ali stating Marvel "didn't want to do it" rather than citing production challenges. The cancellation marks a significant setback for the MCU's planned slate of projects.
