Disney temporarily closed the Sassagoula River Cruise boat service at Disney's Old Key West Resort beginning in mid-July for planned refurbishment work. The closure, announced July 9 and confirmed July 18, removed a complimentary transportation option that connected resort guests to other Disney World locations. The work affected guest amenities and accessibility during the shutdown period, which was expected to last several weeks.
